So I come across this article entitled Top Four Non-Linear Editors via Digg.com (didn’t get my Digg), and I must say that I’m dissapointed with reviews nowadays, especially ones done by those considering themselves “authorities” on this subject. Why? Because they always compare the same old video editors that hold the top posistions in the market. Many great editors that don’t have privelege yet are not even mentioned. I’ve read to many like this.
And second, the title is a bit silly… I mean, are there really any Linear video editors nowadays (Ok, so the news still uses non-linear system. But are they available to the consumer?) The whole idea of the modern computer is to remove the linear bit. So all video editors on the market today are NLEs (show me one that isn’t). You would look silly to not work with NLEs as the work would be tremendous.

The video editor they have left out, that is my personal favorite and the one I use, is the underpriced, underrated Movie Edit Pro from Magix. Don’t be fooled by the dorky name or the price tag. Take my word for it.
